If you were Launching a new SaaS what would be your first marketing moves?

i'm currently building a SaaS and i feel uncertain if my marketing strategies will really work and bring me the initial traction every startup looks for?

so i wanted to ask you guys , if you starting a new saas with low marketing budget, how would you go about finding your first users?

    I'd build a free tool of some sort that targets the same audience I want to target with my SaaS. This way, you are adding value before asking for value.

    Then I'd promote that tool to collect emails. Then I'd talk to everyone who signs up to validate my SaaS idea and gauge its value.

    Have you checked if there's any potential traction at all yet? Is what you're building what you should be building?

    Creating a landing page for what you're building now in Webflow with a sign up leading to a feedback form, publish it, and stick in on ProductHunt. Talk about it on LinkedIn, Twitter, and other media. See the response.

      is there any specific way to do it? i mean i have no experience with webflow

    1. Organic Content Marketing.
    2. Backlink outreach for established blog/websites with high authority in your domain.

    Everything else will be done later. Start with these 2.

    I'd start by speaking to people I know to see if it solves a problem for them, or do they know anyone the could put me in contact with. You just never know what conversations that may start.

      i've been trying to do that on twitter and so far so good , that might work miracles i believe

    It should be specific to your product.
    Where is there an easily accessible group that has the problem your solving?

    It's never too early to start building your audience. I've shipped 3 side projects + my time day role completely on Linkedin and Twitter.     As general approach, you could follow the Mom Test framework - to me it's basically trying to scale relationship building as well as get valuable insights.

    Bit of a long term play, but I’d reach out to prospect clients asking them if they be open to an interview for your new blog.

    A) Breaks the ice.

    B) Unlocks their audience (they share it on their social media).

    C) Free content for your blog.

    D) Will check out your site. Allows you to casually mention your product as well.

    @itsraeyy It really depends on what your product is. Can you say a bit more about who your expected user is and what problem your product will be solving for them?

      its actually a platform much like a hybrid of gumroad and patreon with some additional features

        Who is your ideal user and what problem is your platform going to solve for them? If you can answer those two questions, it should help you start to think about where to find those users and how to communicate with them about your platform.
