Hey all!
My two friends and I have been working on our MVP for Social Checkout (https://socialcheckout.io), an API for social sales at checkout, for the past 6 months. You can view a demo here: https://socialcheckout.io/checkouts/demo.
In past internet products that we've built, we noticed that people were commonly buying things and sharing them with their friends, but no platform allowed both merchants and customers to capitalize on that.
So we built Social Checkout! During checkout, customers can invite their friends and get discounts based on merchant-created schemes. Merchants make more, customers spend less.
We are looking for feedback and beta users (first 10 merchants get no fees for a year).
Thanks in advance!
Looks really neat and I love the idea.
I wonder if it improves conversions though. I would assume that it could lead to some people getting overwhelmed with the complexity of inviting friends, and abandoning the process altogether. Would be cool to see numbers on that.
Thanks! That's a valid concern, and we're definitely interested in those stats as well as we get more users and create more checkouts. The idea is that this checkout flow would be an option for customers, not the only way to pay. So they could always revert to a typical card checkout if they don't want to do a social one.
Awesome. I assume it would be a killer selling point if you could prove an increase in sales...
