IH website feature request: option to expand/collapse at top level comments view
There is an IH forum post today requesting to "Explain what your startup/side-project is about, in under 10 words...".

When I go through the responses, this is a case where it would be nice to be able to collapse responses at the top level instead of having to wade through all the nested responses to the original response. It becomes painful to follow, since deciphering a nested comment from a top level comment requires mentally re-scanning the page further up to verify whether or not you are at a top level comment.
Hope this explanation of the experience makes sense.
How about an option to toggle collapse/expand all nested comments for all responses? You could also add the ability to expand/collapse at the individual original response level.
Thanks for the suggestion! Will add it to my (very long) to-do list and look into it. The main challenge would be where to put such an option in the UI, as my guess is this would be very rarely used, and therefore not worth the clutter cost of putting it somewhere prominent.
In the meantime, perhaps someone could write a script or browser extension to do this.
