I'll analyze your app for free

Hi, I'm Mike, I've been building and publishing apps for years.

I'm offering to analyze your app totally for 0$ (the first 5 people who ask me to)

I'm going to go over your app's page in the App Store / Google Play, use it a bit, and send you feedback about things I've noticed which you might want to improve or take into consideration.

Cheers

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PROMOTION FOR A PAID SERVICE AS I DO NOT PROVIDE ONE AT THE MOMENT.

    Hey,

Check out http://getvealth.com/. There are links at the bottom for both Android and iOS.

    Thanks,
    Radu

I love the landing page design. I would put the app store links on the top, so people would know they have the option straight away. If they come from mobile you can auto-redirect them according to their device (there's a simply JS to detect it)

Using a branded name for an app is discouraged, since you're using the most valuable app keywords space for a word no one is looking for "Vealth" or "GetVealth". E.g. "Get Wellness" will be already better, but the choice of what to use should be by the competition VS popularity of relevant words for your product.

You're also not using up all the title space for more keywords. E.g: Get Wealth: Reduce Burnout
      (ASO!)

Android icon recommended to be rounded, more friendly

Android screenshots need to be designed better, no black lines, no small letters. If you screenshots have them, show the main graphics of the app, and add flashy graphics with a clear text message of the feature you are displaying, since the majority do not even read your app description, and are focused on the icon / screenshots / video (which if done well, converts users better to downloads)

      Good luck!

        Thank you!

The name is something we're trying to change but we have not found something that we like.

When a user taps on the "Try App" button, it will redirect him to the correct store (if opened on mobile) or to the website app.

The app icon and screenshots will be changed in the next update.

You "sacrifice" your branded name in favor of more exposure and downloads. It's a good deal :-) It's not about what you love, it's what is smarter for you in terms of ASO.

    Sure

    https://www.trydraw.com

It's a digital app for learning to draw. I have been working on a version for iPad which I plan to release this year but the web view is currently the same.

    1. 2

I'm more focused on apps, however, I love drawing applications / sites.
The thing that bothered me the most is that I didn't understand what I need to do once I've seen the vase.
I guessed I need to trace it on the left side (which part of its image was cropped, I don't know it it's intentional)
I also didn't understand if the red marker on the right image meant I wasn't doing it right (since it's red)

So I would advice to implement onboarding hints (which of course will also come handy with the mobile app as it is always recommended there as well)

P.s. choosing a "water lily" from the left menu didn't do anything, should it?

      Good luck :-)

      1. 2

First and foremost, thank you because this gave me some insight into what can be clear to some and unclear to others.

        1. Part of the image referenced is covered and it's up to you to try to finish it. This technique is important in art as it helps you improve the level of attention when trying to draw from references. You want to try to be as close as possible. This is more important when drawing stuff like heads and faces but it's a great skill to improve.

        2. Red means you are off in terms of accuracy. It doesn't have to be perfect but when you draw it close enough, there is no red line on the part you just attempted to draw.

        3. Onboarding is a great idea. My misconceptions prevented me from adding one but I will add that so it's super duper clear.

It seems asking you to review my app has been beneficial as I now know what I need to improve.

The water lily is supposee to appear. Maybe it was taking long due to hosting speed. This gives me another idea to add a visual loading icon so users know if something is loading slowly.

        Thanks again.

      Hi Brian,

Great icon, I would personally round the edges so it won't be square :-)
In terms of ASO separating the title words "Bath-Timer" instead of "Bathtimer" MIGHT be better for people who search for a bath timer.

Your description is REALLY SHORT, which means you are missing a great opportunity to compete on more keywords. In Google Play the recommendation is to include each key word you compete on, 5 times in total (title and subtitle instances are counted as well) - (there's a lot of things regarding ASO, check out my course for more info)

Get inspiration for more keywords using this site:
      https://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml

If you can, pay a professional designer to do your screenshots, and A/B test them with the current one to see which get more conversions.
If you won't, then make sure the background color of each screen shot is different from the other one, and different from the blue background of the app itself.
      Some A/B testing tips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kTdt6_YqVk

The app looks very neat otherwise, good luck with it! I hope you get more downloads as you improve the keywordings.

Thanks so much Mike! Btw I'm amazed at the success of your Sand Draw app. What would you say made it get over the hump early on in competing for searchability?

Good timing, and keep on improving the app over time in all possible aspects

Questions: How many MAU (monthly active users) do you have? and how many monthly downloads?

I'm going to start giving you feedback PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY, IT'S OCNSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM(!)

      1. Improving your store's icon can 100% give you more downloads and user conversions. The icon looks outdate and it feels like you designed it.
The icon should have an element which reflects more clearly your app's purpose (360 is pretty general in my opinion)
Your app started to make money right? $150 / month by what you wrote in your profile? Take that $150 and pay a professional icon designer(!)
Watch what I achieved by doing so here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UohvqbwGuPA

      2. Same goes for your screenshots - Your iPad's screenshots need an update to be in par with your iPhone's. It's worth the effort.
iPhone's - screenshots text is too small. the user should be able to read the text without clicking on the picture.

      3. As I'm seeing from the screenshot, I also recommend getting the designer for some in-app screen designing as well. (My friend just told me he invested all his app's income in the last half year on design. I think it's smart move)

      4. Name of your app should contain competitive keyword, it's a whole subject (ASO) you might want to advise my course on it. I think you can also put more word in the title (There's more room no?)

Here are another App Store tip about the new A/B testing (new feature they released):
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXp_cwm10SM

      Good luck!

      1. 2

Many good points. Thank you. I plan to dedicate next update to UI/design.
        Some statistics:
        Active Users: around 2k
        Monthly Downloads: 300 - 400
MRR: $300+ (in the last 2 months)

I saw spikes in downloads and paying subscribers in the last 2 months after I started posting on Reddit.
My primary customers are Robinhood (or similar bare-bones trading platform) users that need access to research.
I paid more attention to screenshots for iPhone (95% users) vs. iPad(5%) - this is why iPad screenshots are not up to date.

    Hi,

Hope it is not too late.

Recently, I have spent some marketing efforts in the past few months, by doing the following.

    1. A/B testing screenshots, for various localisation. For most of the localisation, I can get a better conversion rate than my previous's. However, most conversion rate still lower than peer's median. Currently, I lack of idea how to improve conversion rate further.

    2. Using AppRadar as ASO tool (to figure out high volume traffic keywords), by re-wrote app title, app short description and app long description, for English (United States), Chinese (Traditional Taiwan) & Brazil (Portuguese). However, after almost a week, I still do not observe any improvement. For instance, one of the searched keyword I wish to capture is "memo". But, till now, my app in English (United States) is not ranked for such searched keyword - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yocto.wenote&hl=en&gl=US

    3. Paid marketing. We solely rely Google Ads. Reason is that, if we try on Facebook Ads, the CPI cost is significant higher (like 10x) than Google Ads. I think the reason is that, Google Play Store is Google's asset. Hence, it will be way cost effective, to advertise via Google's network. We don't see a reason why we need to pay 10x cost, to grab a user.

Even though we have performed the above actions, we still do not see increase in our daily download rate.

May I know what other actionable items we can do, in order to increase our daily download rate?

    Thank you.
