I'll give you $2000 to get my subscription service to $500 MRR (84 subscribers)

I'm good at building things lots of people use. In the past, I could slap ads on there and the money would flow.

My current project is an ad-free VR photo streaming platform, so ads are out of the question and $6/mo subscriptions are the name of the game. I'm not rolling in dough, but I can save up $2000 working in the gig economy for someone who helps me get this project from $0 MRR to $500 MRR.

This is 84 subscribers, less than 0.016% of the people who have streamed photos to the platform. Nearly $24 to you per subscriber.

Let's talk. I have channels, a funnel, and I have a great product and users who should want to pay for it, I'm just not really a sales/marketing guy and more of a innovator/designer/builder guy. I need help.

It is a cool idea! But how do you know that there are "...users who should want to pay for it, "? Also, let me ask you, do you use your own project often?

I want to be positive, but I get the feeling that you created this project before you validated the idea. I made this mistake many times, took lots of pain to finally learn the lesson. That said I hope to be wrong and that you actually get to that sweet MRR.

      Thanks!

I know because the product is a synergistic solution to a few major problems in the VR industry. Marketing, monetization, and discovery of VR software.

      I use VRCHIVE every day.

I created the project at first as a hobby. In 2013 no VR image host existed, so I created one to make sharing and viewing VR photos easy and fun.

Raised small checks from two accelerator programs and angels to take it from a hobby to something more. Did a focus group around a concept for a futuristic screenshot feature that would capture through your eyes and all around you instead of a 2D rectangle. The response was overwhelmingly positive so I got to work.

The focus wasn't on monetization, it was on innovating and making cool stuff. I wanted to give people the world's first free AND instant consumer 360 camera. Wasn't sure if anyone would use it, but it set an industry standard and was used to create VR photos and videos seen hundreds of millions of times in every country with open internet.

People have used it to archive VR memories of the time they spent with friends or celebrities like Justin Roiland, Reggie Watts, and Deadmau5. It spreads via word of mouth and through viral embeds on reddit and twitter (like Vine).

It is by far the largest host of VR photos online.

So, its value for marketing and discovery is thoroughly validated. In theory some number of VR enthusiasts should want to pay for either storage space OR to support VR developers because we will share 50% of subscription revenue with a VR developer of the subscriber's choice.

Monetizing VR software is notoriously difficult, with about 1% of VR developers ever breaking even on time/capital investment. Why? Digital download sales aren't consistent. Even good VR software will peak at launch and spike during sales, but trend to low hundreds per month at best (generally speaking though there are exceptions). Free VR software either makes no money or even less money than digital downloads, with VR ads that are universally despised.

Could VR developers accept donations through PayPal or Patreon? Yes, but neither have built in virality or a focus on VR developers. Of the VR developers I've seen on Patreon, they take in less than $30/mo. I've never seen a VR dev have a PayPal donate button outside of open source projects. It would be unheard of for paid products.

So think of my project as sort of like a photo version of Twitch for VR meets the Wayback Machine and Patreon. Weird I know, but it is the product of 7 years of iterations based on listening to the needs of VR developers and enthusiasts. I could go on and on about why photos instead of videos, why I didn't charge from day one, and other stuff but this is already a long post.

Hope that helps to fill everyone in. :)
