I'm 17, built an AI hype-checker, and I genuinely don't know if it should be a product

Why I built this

I kept seeing AI launches get hyped up — "10x faster," "beats GPT-5," "changes everything" — and I had no fast way to tell if that was true or just a good tweet. I'd end up digging through benchmarks, Reddit threads, and expert reviews myself every time, for 20-30 minutes, before I trusted a claim enough to act on it.

So I built something to do that digging for me and give me a straight answer.

What it actually does

You paste in an AI launch — a name, a tweet, whatever — and it gives you a verdict: worth trying now, watch later, too early, or mostly fog machine. Every verdict is backed by named sources (specific benchmarks, named reviewers, real user reports), not "reports suggest" hand-waving. It also shows a "fog meter" — how much of the hype is real vs unverified — and tells you what to actually do next, split by whether you're a builder, a buyer, or just curious.

What it's NOT (yet)

Fully honest: it's a static site right now. No backend, no database, no automated pipeline. If you search a launch I haven't researched yet, it asks for your email and I go research and file it myself, by hand. That's deliberate — I didn't want to build a whole backend before knowing if anyone actually wants this.

The tech

No framework, no build step — plain HTML/CSS/JS, hosted free on GitHub Pages. Kept it that simple on purpose so I could ship fast and not burn time on infrastructure for something unproven.

What I need from you

I'm not trying to sell you anything — I'm trying to find out if this solves a real problem or if it's a problem only I have.
