Hey IH π
I'm Thiago, a radiologist from Brazil. I started building RONTGEN out of a personal need: I was spending way too much time dictating and formatting radiology reports. I needed voice-to-text that actually worked with medical terminology, plus AI post-processing to clean up and structure the output automatically.
I built the whole thing in my free time between hospital shifts, using Claude Code as my AI coding partner. The stack is Django + React. No co-founder, no funding β just a real problem and the right tools.
My goal was simple: combine the power of large language models with the practicality of a text editor and the speed of voice dictation. No chatbot back-and-forth β just write, dictate, and let your AI pipeline do the rest.
What started as a productivity hack for my own workflow turned into a full AI text editor that anyone can use. Here's what makes it different:
π Custom AI Agent Pipelines β chain multiple AI steps together (e.g., transcribe β fix terminology β format to template β proofread). You build your own workflows, not just single prompts.
ποΈ Voice-to-Text β real-time dictation or audio file upload, powered by AssemblyAI, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, or OpenAI Whisper.
π€ 50+ AI Models β GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek, LLaMA and more via OpenRouter. On the free plan you get ~25 models. With Plus ($8/mo), bring your own API keys β zero markup.
π Text-to-Speech Proofreading β listen to your text with word-by-word highlighting at adjustable speed. Great for catching errors.
π¬ Inline AI Chat β ask questions or generate text without leaving the editor.
The free tier is fully functional. Plus ($8/mo) unlocks all models with your own API keys β zero markup. Pro ($20/mo) includes $12 in monthly credits so you don't need to manage keys at all, and you can buy extra credit packs that never expire.
I'd love feedback from this community β what features would matter most to you? What would make you switch from ChatGPT or other writing tools?
