Hi, it's Joel here. I'm an accountability coach, and I wanted to share a list of tips and techniques that can help you overcome procrastination and improve your productivity.
I made a selection of the 30 tips that work best between my clients, backed mainly by positive psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy research.
I'm including the first one here, and it's about S.M.A.R.T. goals that actually work:
You've probably heard them, maybe even used to some degree in the past.
I'm talking about reworking bland, meaningless statements of desire into honed high-performance goals by applying the framework:
Let's bring this to life in a couple of examples:
π Dumb goal: "Get fit again"
π S.M.A.R.T. goal: Run 5 miles before breakfast, except for Wednesday and Sunday
π Dumb goal: "Feel less stressed"
π S.M.A.R.T. goal: Write my gratitude journal for 10 minutes after my shower each night
Feel the difference?
One last thing - some folks take up S.M.A.R.T. goals but still struggle to hit them. Remember that a goal, no matter how well crafted is useless without a feedback loop of measurement and learning. To quote an infamous boxer, "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face".
So set a time in your daily schedule to review your goal result, what worked, what didn't and apply what you learned to improve your goal-setting in the future. Deliberate iteration is key here.
You can get here the full list of tips for free, receiving one email each day, for a month.

Always loved that infamous boxer quote! I'm building Lifelog, a writing platform focused on daily writing towards your goals. This sounds like something useful to think about for my platform!
Hi Jason, Lifelog looks great! Keeping a journal of your progress and goals can really help to keep you moving forward, nice concept π
Sorry, what did you find useful for your platform? The S.M.A.R.T. goals approach or the daily tips?
Hope you're doing well, thanks for reading!
Yeah SMART goals, daily tips. Just good inspiration for what might be great for my users are they write towards their goals in a more structured, intentional manner.
Aah I see, I think daily short tips or quotes would fit your site perfectly!
