β Hey IH π
β I'm a solo developer based in Tokyo, Japan. I've been lurking on r/AsianBeauty and other skincare communities, and I keep seeing the same frustration:
β "I heard Japanese skincare is amazing, but I can't read Japanese reviews or ingredient labels."
β Japan has @cosme β the largest beauty review platform in the country with 18 million+ reviews and 50,000+ products. It's incredibly detailed (users log their
skin type, age, climate, everything). But it's 100% in Japanese.
β So I'm building JBeauty Intelligence β a tool that:
β 1. Takes your skin type and concerns
β 2. Analyzes @cosme reviews from Japanese users who share your skin profile
β 3. Gives you personalized product recommendations with decoded ingredients + where to buy internationally
β Why me: I live in Japan, read @cosme daily, and walk into Japanese drugstores regularly. I understand the nuances that translation tools miss.
β I have a landing page up: https://jbeauty-intelligence.vercel.app
β Before I go deep on building this, I'd love honest feedback:
β - Does this sound like something people would pay for?
β - Would you position this as a one-time analysis or a subscription?
β - Any similar tools you've seen in this space?
β Appreciate any thoughts! π
