I'm building a project management app for marketing, doing it all in public with nocode!

Hey everyone, happy new year!!

As the headline says, I'm building a new SaaS product in public with nocode. It's been a few months since I shut down my last project, which was a feedback and review collection service. For 2022, I want to build something that I'm truly excited about. For this next project I'm building a project management app for marketing.

Why I'm Building a Marketing App

With every project I've ever built, I've felt the pain of marketing. As a developer, it simply is not interesting to me to focus on things such as copywriting and SEO. The marketing on my last project was terrible. I really needed software to glue it all together and keep me on track. I'm most excited about using MarketingPad to grow MarketingPad! In fact, I drafted this entire post in the app.

Additionally, 2022 is the year of marketing. In the last few months, I've noticed an uptick across Twitter, Reddit, and IndieHackers of founders getting serious about Marketing. I want this product to help them stay on track to hit their goals. My target audience for the paid plan will be small teams and solo founders building software with MRR in the range of $1k - $10k. Too small to hire a dedicated marketing manager and too big to not take marketing seriously. I'll also have a free plan for products that are in the launch and initial growth phase.

What's Next?

I've started building the app using Bubble. I've been building apps on Bubble for myself and others since 2015 and I'm confident that this product is a good fit for the Bubble technology. I'm building this during nights after spending time at my full time job and with my family, so I expect progress to be consistent but it won't be completed in just a week. I've bought the domain, posted the landing page, and started the building core features.

I've set a few upcoming goals:

  • Document journey in public on Twitter and Indiehackers
  • Collect 100 interested beta testers through landing page
  • MVP up and running with beta testers by February 15th
  • Spend as much time time marketing as I do building features

How to follow along?

I've started posting my progress on Twitter. You can follow me there but I will also post a product page on IndieHackers. If you're interested, you can sign up on the landing page to get early access as a beta tester. Also, I'd love to hear your feedback about the product here in this post.

In the past, I haven't been great at building in public, but I'm dedicated to posted every update to this project on my Twitter profile.
