Hello, I've decided to start a startup marketplace. I'll be sharing the entire process exclusively on Indie Hackers. Not on X or LinkedIn. Only on IndieHackers!
The moment the idea came to mind, I did some SEO research.
I had one domain: Startupzel.com. I wanted to build my brand around it.
I wanted to keep it as minimal as possible. That's why I chose Substack, an existing system, instead of coding a site from scratch. I immediately created a Substack account: startupzel.substack.com.
Then I created the page https://www.indiehackers.com/product/startupzel.
I designed the logo using Figma. It was a new-generation minimalist white rocket on a space blue background. But here's the thing: I didn't like the space blue color. So I changed it to royal blue.
I also needed an X account. Even though Substack is good, X was essential for audience discovery. When I looked to create an X account, I realized I already had one. I had created it for startup news. https://x.com/startupzel
I even had a Gmail account. 🤦♂️ Wow! 😂
I designed it with ChatGPT.
When I went to the site to import it, I noticed the site was giving an SSL error. I fixed it right away. It takes a little time to process.
I added Google Analytics.
While testing, I noticed the website's responsive was bad. I fixed it.
Then I started creating a form from my form creation site. I'll continue to share the process here.
I sent emails to people. All that's left is to wait.
I created the form. https://create.ist/f/MjI1
I added a button to the website.
I created the email address hi@startupzel.com to communicate with people.
