I'm building Chatlr - an end-to-end chat app to connect simply with anybody
Hey indie hacker,
I wanna share with you what I'm building at the moment.
Chatlr is a chat app that works like Calendly, you share your personalized link and people can start chatting with you, share files, send voice chats, and schedule meetings (w Calendly).
All your messages, files, and messages are encrypted to ensure your privacy.
You can also collect information (email and name for the moment)
I'm planning to implement video calls, contact export, and payments later on.
I'll be pleased to get feedback if you wanna try it.

Video calls seem like they may be a useful feature, especially with the proliferation of remote work and online conferences in recent years.
Why should someone use Chatlr instead of traditional channels?

Chatlr is better for some use cases because :
Phone: some people don't want to share their phone numbers + it's limited.
Email: Not optimal for long conversations.
Socials/Platform: if folks don't have an account you need to force them to sign in.
Chatlr uses just a simple link so it's universal and simple for the recipient.

I'm targeting people who are using 1:1 chats such as online coaches, recruiters, and freelances
Many people use emails for these which is not an optimal solution
This is a very cool idea.
Seems like the biggest challenge would be getting the chat scheduled/started. Your hero section starts off showing a chat window, which at least for me, felt like it jumped over that critical step. Just some feedback in terms of potential visitor expectations when they hit your site. I think showing the personal interactions that get the chat started would round out the demonstration of the experience.

What exactly is the usecase that is not covered by all the other chat apps out there? Most have end-to-end-encryption nowadays. And some also don’t rely on your phone number. Is it for coaches who want to chat with their clients?
