I just graduated from college, and instead of jumping into a job, I'm taking a gap year to see if I can succeed with indie hacking. My goal is to go from $0 to $2000/month in revenue in a year.
I'm documenting every step of the journey, tracking my time everyday and publishing all the data on everything I spend my time on, posting weekly updates, and launch debriefs, etc.
Just wanted to give a big thank you to the whole IH community for all your advice and support over the last year that gave me the courage to do this.
If you're interested in seeing all the data and content, you can find it here: https://dkb.fyi.
Good luck Dmitri! Subscribed to see what you can come up with. Think that sharing your journey will be a great motivator, as one of the hard things about solo-founding or making is the fact it's hard to truly share both your wins and failures.
Also, curious to the album 🔥 What genre are we talking about?
All the best,
Valentijn
Thanks for your support Valentijn :). Yeah sharing everything is a nice motivator and helps keep me accountable.
Not sure what genre yet haha. I have the most experience in piano, though I do want to try some hip-hop production stuff too. We'll see where it goes.
Sweet! Using piano loops or samples can be awesome for the hip-hop tracks anyway. I've played around in the past making hip-hop tracks (terribly, I must say) but had a great time doing it.
All the best and I'll see the updates coming my way 🙏
Subscribed to keep you accountable! ;)
Thanks Rosie! I shall not let you down.
What's the difference between https://dkb.fyi and https://dkb.life?
Hello! dkb.life is my personal blog that I write random stuff on, while dkb.fyi was only focused on the journey from $0-$2K, however, you caught me in the middle of a big rebranding at the moment, so dkb.fyi isn't really functional at the moment.
In a few weeks, it will all be merged into one on dkb.fyi. If you want to stay tuned for updates, feel free to follow me on twitter/medium/youtube.
I read all your posts by the way. Caught my eye that you're also LA-based. It's almost funny that even if you hit your $0-$2K goal (which I wish you all the best for, it's also what I'm striving for), it's really just "barely surviving" money here in LA. Hell living in Westwood where I believe you're now is out of the question at $2k/mo.
Well... All the best nonetheless!
Thanks for your support! Yeah $2K/month is barely enough to survive in LA haha, that's why I actually moved out recently. I'm in Arizona for the moment.
I'm waiting until I have a sustainable amount of revenue, then I'm actually trying to move to SF ( which is even worse :') ). It's a fun journey.
Good luck!
Thank you Josh <3
It seems super interesting. I gonna keep to follow your progress. I hope you will be successfull! Good luck
Thanks for the support!
That's awesome!! Good Luck Dmitri and thanks for sharing your journey!
Thanks Kim! Happy to share, and I hope people can learn from it one day.
Good luck! Sounds like a great goal. I hope you get to achieve beyond your goals!
Thanks Anthony! I hope so too haha.
