I'm launching "Drinking games for Skype/Zoom", what do you think?

Hey Guys, LONG time fan and new joiner here πŸ˜ƒ

I'm planning to launch my latest product, ziago.co soon. The idea is "Drinking games for Skype/Zoom etc.". Although there's non-drinking games as well. Me and a few friends wanted this, I looked for it online, couldn't find it, so I built it.

I have never officially launched something, so here's my plan below. I would love any pointers/feedback on the idea itself or on my launch plan!

Also happy to answer questions on dev/design etc.

My Plan:

  1. Contact journalists whose readers might enjoy the app, via email (or Twitter?).
  2. Set up a Twitter account and Facebook page (I have neither).
  3. Submit for launch on ProductHunt
  4. Place some Facebook Ads to millennials/the young, to try and get some momentum. (I know ads isn't a long term solution, but I have some cashflow available to help with early traction?)
  5. Experiment with Snapchat ads, because the audience for now is mainly the young.
  6. Work on improving SEO, possibly place a few Google Ads
  7. Add more games!

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Pieter

Great idea! However, this is similar to HouseParty.com

If I were you, I would use the network affect, word-of-mouth marketing. When I download an app for social networking, I want my friends to be on it. You just need a handful of users who love it and they'll get their friends on your app and their friends will tell their other friends and so on...

Love the hustle, keep it up!

      Thanks!

Yes, I'm aware of Houseparty, however there's a few things that differentiates Ziago:

      • Play the game on one device, video call on another (this way the screen doesn't have to be shared between the app and the actual video call). So the phone works like a remote of sorts.
      • No app download needed (web app)
      • Lots of plans to add more games (AFAIO there's only a handful on HouseParty)

      Cheers
