I'm making a guide to privacy tools: how do I convince the reader that working on their privacy is important in just few sentences?
Hi everyone. I'm making an interactive guide to privacy, which can be found at https://getprivate.online. It covers a range of ways one can protect their identity online and decentralize their tool use. It's almost done in its current form, but the landing page, that is, the 'first slide', so to say, is not satisfactory to me. The objective is to convince the user to continue reading.
I'm looking for feedback on the site itself (wordiness, graphics, subjects, correctness of information if you know a lot about the subject) and feedback on the first 'slide', which has to be as good as possible.
Any tips are greatly appreciated!
I wouldn’t try to convince visitors that privacy is important. Your users will already care about privacy. Be more specific about what this guide is all about, and highlight why it’s useful to someone who is privacy conscious. Also, not sure the step-by-step survey style approach is the best. Maybe an ebook or blog post? If you’re trying to capture emails I think those other formats will be more accessible. Just my quick thoughts.
I did the step-by-step interactive style to prevent losing people's attention, which might happen with an ebook. The capturing emails really was more of an afterthought, but I'm guessing the conversion rate is higher for the kind of people I want to capture with this.
