I'm moving to New York! Any Indie Hackers there?
I'm Dutch. After having lived/worked remotely (mostly Bali) for over 3 years, I'm moving to New York next week. Quite excited about it. I've always felt being remote got me to 80% of my potential, which was surprising at first, walking around in flip flops while acquiring big brands like Red Bull as customers. It's all possible these days. Still, I've been more and more curious to see if I can do better if I'd live in the US.

Not in NYC, but been there done something similar? What was it like to 5x your costs? Did it help, or were your days as an indie hacker short lived?
I also think that New York has a crazy rhythm of life that not everyone can stand. But if you are ready for this, then I don't see any obstacles to your success. On the contrary, I want a quieter life, so I move from the center of London to a country house. I will have a large backyard and there is very beautiful nature and almost no noise. I'm very glad that I can work remotely, which allows me to live in any desired place. So I have already called the movers from man and van https://www.man-van.co.uk/ who have packed my items to be delivered to the new location. I don't plan to develop my career, because I have enough to live on. So I decided that this is a good time to enjoy life instead of chasing money.
I think living in Bali is a lifetime vacation. I would definitely not be able to move to New York after Bali. In NY you need to work 24 hours a day to afford a decent life.
