I'm on the front page of HN for 18+ hours. Whaaat?

Hey Indiehackers,

I want to share my thoughts and feelings about my recent post HN.

My product was on the front page of HackerNews for almost a day. 🤯 (It's still there at the time I'm writing this.) Was in the top 5 for more than 14 hours.

It's called Coolify, which tends to be an open-source, hassle-free, self-hostable Heroku & Netlify alternative.

Why, you may ask?

I have no idea!

What did it cause to me?

TL; DR:

• 100+ followers on Twitter.
• Landing page, 207,402 served files through CDN, which is around 20-40k visitors (not unique).
• Github Stars +566.

A bit longer:

• Got ~100 followers on Twitter, which is huge for me as I only started using Twitter in not read-only mode for about 2 weeks, with ~100 followers. (Now at 375)
• I do not set up any user analytics on the landing page - as I did not expect this to happen - but it's served through BunnyCDN, so I have some data. 207,402 served files through them, and it serves ~5 files for each request.
• Github repository was blown up as well. I had 100 stars before posting; now I have 666 😈

Thoughts/feelings.

I was so unprepared for this. Someone asked me how can he/she send me money to support my project. 🤯 Insane.

But no matter how unprepared you are, go with the flow!

Also, I received a lot of negative feedback (as everybody does on HN). If they are critical, not just a simple negative feedback - so they are trying to add some value to it - then I try to learn from them. If not, just poking me with a stick; I ignore them. Best strategy ever!
