I'm planning on making a website, which provides easy to understand and reasonably priced music lessons.
I'm intending to target it towards new musicians so that they can get a basic understanding of the instrument that they are playing, so that when they take face-to-face lessons with a music instructor/teacher they know a bit about the instrument and how to play so that they can progress at a faster rate at the start and save a hefty amount of money that would be spent on weeks of lessons learning the basics, as opposed to taking on online course to learn the most important building blocks of any musicians beginnings.
The inspiration towards the idea:
In March of 2020, I went to a music shop and brought my first acoustic guitar. I didn't know anything about how to play it, so the first couple of months I struggling greatly to learn the basics when I went to lessons. My aim is to create a 'fast-track' for new musicians so that they can start making good progress straight away.
The course will primarily be for beginners seeking lessons on the fundamental basics of the guitar and piano in order for them to make rapid progress to prepare them for face-to-face music lessons eventually.
Is this a good idea and what route should be taken to accomplish this?

If I understand the idea correctly, you want to help people learn the basics of playing an instrument in preparation for their first music lesson. If so, I'm wondering:
Wouldn't the point of going to music lessons to learn those basics? If so, it sounds to me a bit like what my mom does: she cleans the house before the house cleaner comes, so it doesn't look as messy. 😄
I'd think if I wanna pick up the basics, I'd probably go on YouTube and try to learn there.
What is stopping you from offering lessons through your app? Just go all the way- your solution can be the teacher or the platform where the teacher and student meet.

At launch it would mainly provide lessons for newer students; however, over time if the website starts getting some customers, then more lessons and classes will be added on to the site. The difference between the website and videos on YouTube will provide extra materials which can help gain a better understanding, specifically music theory and also provide additional sub-lessons such as strumming patterns and major and minor scales.
