I'm sick of searching for software [a rant + cry for help lol]

I need to blow some steam off and maybe see if anyone else can relate or share a gem.

This ^^^ has been my life for the past few months... trialing software to integrate into our systems, one after another, and to be honest, I'm at wits' end with it.

I used to be all about shiny tools & bells n whistles yet also see the other practical side but I've slowly become jaded and can't seem to find anything that works.

I've tried to remove the rose colored lens and learn to settle or get down to the basics/not over complicate things but I still am struggling with trying to make it all work in the end and can't seem to firmly connect the dots.

I'm aware that this is probably a personal issue and not simply a matter of pointing the finger at third parties but can anyone else relate?

At what point does trying to rely on third party tools become enough? Is it time to invest into a fully custom in house solution?

Have you ever had to ditch trying to build off others and go custom or is that just another can of worms I'm opening up that will become the same endless pursuit?

That is somewhat of a rhetorical question as I feel like this entire forum is the p product of such outcomes but what about bigger software issues that aren't as easily shippable?

Like I said, this is somewhat of a rant so if I get no replies, no worries, at least I got it off my chest haha.
