I'm trying to surround myself with 5 people I want to be like.
Hi all, as the saying goes - "you're the avg. of 5 people you spend time with", I'm taking a step to surround myself with people who learnt to code themselves and used this skill to create a profitable business.
I'm a PM who's now learning to code. I usually come up with a lot of ideas (not all necessarily can be businesses) that can solve my problems as well. I used to write them up but couldn't build it.
I want to change that! I want to build! I want to feel "JOY OF CREATION"!
I've already started learning to code. I'm learning javascript. I've a little knowledge of HTML & CSS as well. I'd really appreciate advice from folks who learnt themselves - How did you learn and got better? How did you remain consistent in the initial part of your journey?
P.S. I've built my first product. It's a very simple chrome extension. WOHOO!!! If you send a lot of emails, 80% chances are that it will be really helpful to you. Get in touch :)
I think that's a fantastic idea! I wanted to do something similar — surround myself with other indie hackers and developers working on projects so I started organizing these small accountability groups and it's been helping a lot.
Building real projects. Ideally solving one of your own problems so it's easy to stay motivated.
Start small. For me, I committed to coding for 30mins/day for 100 days and that helped prevent burnout and stay consistent.

Like you said, I'm learning to code coz I have quite many ideas and so I want to build them. I've tinkered around and built one. It's yet not consistent so not releasing in public yet. VERY SOON! :)
