I'm behind my yearly goal of $10k MRR (currently $3.3k) and have to refocus and rethink my strategy.
So let's dive deep into analytics, planning, and actions! 💪
Thanks to appfigures.com, I discovered the first potential point to improve for WorkTimes and MinuteTaker. It seems that I cannot convince users to start a new trial. 🤔
93% of WorkTimes' subscribers are from the DACH region.
Only 13% of new users completed the onboarding within WorkTimes. 😳
WorkTimes and MinuteTaker have fellow users who bought the app before I switched to subscriptions.
Only new features require subscriptions. So I still have a lot of fellow users who haven't subscribed yet.
After an insightful day, I identified some focus areas to get closer to my goal for the year.
I need to refocus often too. I find myself looking at my phone during the day more times then I would like to admit, so I've just been turning it off during the day.
But aside from the usual distractions, I've been getting distracted by world events and the weather. I'm human, and the weather's got me ready to get away from the computer. The only thing that gets me focused again is the thought of accomplishing a new feature or talking to a new prospect.
To be frank, I won't be used any application to refocus myself. I know what I need to do, and I know when I'm not doing the things I need to be doing.
Ha, I admire your discipline. For me, knowing what to do is no match for my unconscious impulses. So my technology list is extensive:
So much insightful info here, tks for sharing. Also, this might be useful for improving your onboarding process ( uphint.com - free) It's a big challenge to prepare everything related to training new users. Hope it could be of help in your journey, and any feedback is welcome.
I like ur visuals, but after reading it I am a bit waiting for more. Could u dig a bit deeper on ur focus area and on how u will solve each items ? Would be even more interesting.
Absolutely. I'll share more about what I do soon. I'm currently resigning my Onboarding and Paywall flow.
After I release that and gain some data, I'll share it here.
Hi Florian! Very interesting story, I think many of us could relate to your situation and it's very insightful to share your thinking process on how to refocus.
I do have some questions about the action plan, more specifically about point 3: How do you plan to take fellow users to subscribers? Do you plan to reduce the features they can access? Or do you have a stack of new features that they already don't have available and you plan to do some marketing to make them subscribe to those?
Thanks again for sharing!
Hey, thanks for asking.
I have a lot of new features I want to implement and hope fellow customers will subscribe due to those new features.
In the iOS ecosystem, you cannot move existing features (a user has already paid for) behind a paywall. Apple does not allow that.
Regarding marketing: That will be more like a feature promotion within the apps every time I add a new feature. I'm still learning how to improve that promotion and, with that, improve the conversion.
That's interesting, I have no experience with iOS apps, so thanks for sharing that too.
Good luck and excited to see how this turns out in the near future! Please keep sharing.
