Impending Product Hunt launch stresss

Ugh, it's just stressing me out. Finding little bugs in my stuff and pushing the date out again.....

Just remember that the Product Hunt launch is but one day of many to come. You might have a big influx of traffic, or you might not — but either way, the real thing that grows your business will be the slow persistent grind. A good launch isn’t your shot at an instant success, and a bad launch certainly doesn’t doom you to failure. Breathe out and think about the big picture :)

One of the mistakes we always used to make was the aim at the PH launch and not having anything planned afterwards...try looking at it as one step.

It can be a good step, mainly in helping to raise awareness, but also think about if your end-users are actually ON PH, sometimes this isn't the case. Spreading out your efforts more into other communities or spaces is really important and helps take the fear of this one day.

I actually did a public retro of our latest PH launch on IH - if you have any more specific questions let me know and I can try to help!

I agree that you should not overthink the launch. Just get it done. Most people won't actually try your product, and other people will find way more bugs than the ones you find yourself.

Remember that saying (Reid Hoffman): "If you're not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you've launched too late"

By the way, I've also felt Product Hunt launch stress many, many times. And one possible antidote is to remember that launches are disposable and that you can launch again and again
