If you are like me and want to improve in certain aspects of your life, the next might be helpful.
After some years working on becoming a better self (body, mind, work) I learned how compound interest works on your benefit. Instead of trying to change your lifestyle completely, like adding 4 days of workout a week for a non sporty person, you should instead get the habit of for example doing 5 pushups a day. This way, you will likely not fail the routine, as less resistance is there, and by the time you will increase the number of pushups as well as improving your body and health considerably.
This method can be applied to anything, like writing a few lines of code, meditating for 5 minutes or going for a daily walk. At first you might feel like not much is changing, but after a few months or even years, you will see how you finish that side project, achieve your helth goals and get better in everything you aim for.
I even use a digital to-do list that every night send me a notification to cross all the items that I did during the day, and this motivates me a lot to improve my statistics on habit success rate!
Cheers,
That's atomic habits right there)
Right š
Totally agree with this.
I used to get overwhelmed by everything I needed to do from maintaining good health to building an online business.
Now, I perform a task relating to different categories of my life every day.
Breaking my tasks/habits into small chunks has helped me tremendously in maintaining consistency.
And like you, I have a list of daily tasks/habits and make sure to cross them off every night.
That's amazing!
