This is what inbox zero looks like:

What a beauty.

Over the past six months I managed to slack off and stop reading the few informative and interesting startup-related newsletters I subscribe to. This post is a snippet of what I learned from sifting through 100s of emails (more like 400). Most of these learnings come from reading the Indie Hackers, Arvid Kahl's Bootstrapped Founder and Justin Jackson's newsletters. Some tidbits come from Dru Riley's Trends.vc and Darko's Zero to Users. You can read it in full in my original blogpost.

News and learnings

  1. My favourite news was TikTok just beat out Facebook in time spent per user.

  2. I'll definitely pay more attention to Harry Dry's Tweet tip: make tweets sound like speech, not like writing.

Of other things I've picked up on and been reminded of, here are my top:

  1. Address objections in your CTA (or use microcopy)
  2. Offer discounts to niche communities
  3. Convert more leads with industry-specific landing pages
  4. Add a product demo video
  5. Price your product at what it would cost if your product weren't used
  6. Find niche keywords and create a glossary to boost traffic
  7. Strong market trumps everything (Justin Jackson)
  8. Two goals of audience building: become an expert, build a product that your audience needs (Arvid Kahl)

Obviously there were loads more I sifted through. But this is a summary, hope you enjoyed!
