Increasing community conversion rate [experiment]

My name is Tiago and I am the founder of the WBE Space. A community for indie makers to share their wins, struggles and get the support they need.

I was very happy to have a high conversion rate for our "Join" CTA - around 22% of people who open the landing page go on to click on the "Join" button.

However, I've noticed that not all of these people end up becoming paying members. This can be disappointing, as I want as many people as possible to experience the value of our community.

To address this issue, I've recently implemented a new strategy

When someone clicks on the "Join" CTA, they are now able to immediately join a read-only version of our Slack group.

This allows them to see what the community is like and get a sense of the conversations and resources that are available. They can then decide if they want to upgrade to a paid membership and become a full member.

I believe that this new approach will be beneficial for both potential members and for WBE Space.

Potential members can get a taste of the community before committing to a membership, and WBE Space can increase its chances of converting free members into paying members.

Do you think this strategy will work? I will keep you posted...
