Reducing Unify's freemium actions from 3 to 1 resulted in doubling in-app subscriptions. Overnight.
Not only did more people hit the paywall (obviously), but the conversion rate itself increased.
Prompting a user to subscribe when your app has just solved some problem of theirs is obviously more likely than relying on them to remember to go back into your app, use it more, and subscribe at a later time. They may have enjoyed your app, so why wait to ask them to subscribe?
People want to get their money's worth. There are many studies that users who pay for apps use them more simply because they have paid for them. So don't sell your product short.
We experienced the same thing when we closed on free plan for good last year. People who wanted to use us end up having to subscribe to a paid plan.
Sure the number of new sign ups drop. But what matters most is paid users vs free users who almost never upgraded to a paid plan.
Well done!
