Indie Hacker Book - Need Validation!

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of outlining a book for makers and indie hackers. So far, I have a title and a general concept of what I want to write about. The book is going to be called "Don't Gold Plate! A Maker's Guide to a Successful Software MVP using .NET 5, SQL Server and Common Sense."

The book will focus on outlining a software project and picking the right features for an MVP. Then I'll get into recipes that allow someone without a lot of programming knowledge to put this together using free tools that Microsoft provides. This isn't a book that will teach you object-oriented concepts. It's a book that will describe a common problem and provide you with a pattern that you can use to solve that problem. In the end, you'll have an MVP, and if it's successful, you'll have a good foundation to build upon.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to validate this idea and take some pre-orders. Anyone who pre-orders will help shape the content. I plan on sharing my outline and content as I produce it chapter by chapter, and the people who preorder the book will get that first and hopefully provide feedback that can make the finished product even better!

I was thinking of letting the project run on Kickstarter, but it might be too much for a $15 e-book. I can put together my own custom pre-order page as well.

Does anyone have any thoughts? First - is the book a good idea or a turd? Second - Kickstarter or custom?
