Indie Hackers, How Creative Can You Be Given These Constraints!?
I am always in awe by how entrepreneur's, hustler's, and side gig/freelancer's ability to figure out how to make money. That being said, I would love to hear how each of you would accomplish the following given these constraints.
Constraints:
10 Days
Your current skill set
A laptop with whatever programs you typically use
A solid internet connection
Task:
Create a product or service that by the end of day 10 will put $2,500 in your bank account to use on day 11.
I am excited to see what you all come up with!
Organise an in-person web development short course. 5 days long, $500 per person. Use all of my available network to get attendees. Hire a small community space and have people bring their own laptops. Having run a number of these types of courses before, it's not really realistic to get people to sign up at such short notice, but I would try :)
Try to find a short term freelance gig. Could possibly offer it at a reduced rate to gain a client ASAP. Daily rate is around $500 so I could make the money in a week of work. Getting payment upfront would be the main issue. Again, i'd heavily utilise my network here.
Find a high value industry and scrape data which could help a company in that industry. Sell that data to companies in that industry. The type of data will vary wildly depending on the industry; you may be scraping potential leads or information about competitors. I haven't done this before so I can't say it's a great plan, but it feels like something that could potentially work.
I’m pretty sure I could pick up a couple of web design gigs in that time and deliver it. The only tricky part would be insisting on payment up front to ensure I had the cash on day 11

How many would you need?
What type of work would each entail (full site build-out, site redesign, a few pages, etc.)?
Remember, 10 days only.
For me, Parker, with those constraints (which I like!) your only real option is to create a course of some kind and launch it in an established channel, like Udemy.
To get that really fast traction, that course could be teaching something which has literally come up in the news this week... jumping on a real life situation / trend.
Even then, you'd need a bit of luck and would have to work really quickly...!
Maybe I'll try it?!

Ha! Yes... many times ;-) Some more successful than others.
As for your other question - I guess I'm fairly good with keeping up with the trends / news...
