🌱 IndieHackers Challenge: Build a $0 Project That Plants 10 Trees

Hey IndieHackers,
I want to try something a little different this week: a community challenge.

Can you build a side project that makes $0 but plants 10 trees by next week?

I’ll cover the API credits for anyone who wants to join in. Your project doesn’t need to be monetized, scalable, or even polished, it just has to do some good.

How it works:

• Pick any small trigger in your project (new signup, button click, commit, message, checkout, whatever)

• Call the 1ClickImpact API to plant trees (or clean ocean plastic / capture CO₂ if you prefer)

• Share your mini project + progress here by next week

Some fun examples to spark ideas:

• GitHub: every time you merge a PR → plant a tree 🌳

• Slack/Discord: every kudos message → clean ocean plastic 🐠

• Notion + Zapier: when you check off a to-do → capture CO₂ 🌍

• Stripe + Zapier: every new payment → plant a food tree that feeds a family 🍊

• Calendar + Zapier: when a meeting ends → plant a tree (offset the emissions from Zoom fatigue 😅)

• Etsy/Shopify test store: every “order” → trigger impact, even if it’s $0

• Personal site: add a button that just says “click → plant a tree” and see who presses it

Why join?

• You’ll ship something small but meaningful

• You’ll have a fun story to share with users/investors/friends

• You’ll prove that impact can be baked into products with almost no effort

Impact doesn’t have to be complicated, sometimes a few lines of code or a simple Zap can literally change the planet. 🌍 I’ll share everyone’s projects at the end of the week (and yes, the trees will actually get planted that you and your customers can track in the 1ClickImpact.com Dashboard).
