Information Overload, How to handle it.
I'm a consumer of information. I love learning and reading, but it seems like there is so much information coming at me, I have a really hard time keeping track of all the books, websites, articles and videos out there. When I do a search for new books or other resources, it's always hard to find the information I'm looking for so I started a resource to help me keep track.
It's https://www.collorem.com and it lets you add different books, websites, videos and articles (eventually podcasts) to topics that you might be interested in. It would be nice to build a community around it where the community sources and votes on the best resources for a specific topic. It will allow you to ignore items you don't care about and mark items as read/visited/watched so you can keep track of what you've consumed and what you haven't.
Anyways, I thought I would post it here and see if anyone is interested in adding resources to the site!
I like the idea, however, I’m missing some examples. I had to click through a lot of categories to find one. Maybe you can feature a couple of examples on the landing page.
Have you thought about adding some short abstract to the items?
I guess you should try to create more content firat so that the site is really useful for at least some subset of the categories (that you know well).

This is actually a good idea. I'm thinking this could help people avoid researching tons and tons of articles by themselves and search for a topic here and just go through the most recommended. Did I get that right?
A couple of suggestions:
I'd put Search as the front and center of the site. I feel that fewer people would browse through the topics and find one they're interested in than those who would search for something of interest.
Have you also considered putting up events as topics? For eg. the cause of 2007/8 financial crisis is something that I had to research a ton about and it might help some if Collorem could suggest the best articles/videos to read/watch about that time.
Have you considered narrowing down the scope of topics? For eg. something starting off with Science/Global Warming/Finance/Politics and once a field or two take off, you could start introducing other fields.
I love the idea of adding events!
I pulled in a large list of topics to bootstrap it, but it may be worth trimming them down until the business and technology sections (where I mostly operate) are well populated. Thanks for checking the site out!
