Interview: Evmux Has Build a Super Advanced and Easy to Use Live Streaming Solution

I had the privilege to interview Elad Rosanski, the Founder & CMO of evmux, a new, super-advanced, and easy-to-use live streaming solution.

You can check it out here: https://evmux.com/

And here is the interview:

What is evmux, and what makes it so unique?

Elad: evmux is the easiest way to produce stunning podcasts, live streams, webinars, and virtual events, allowing you to create professional recorded and LIVE content all from your browser! With just a few clicks, you can go LIVE like a pro. Using evmux, you can multistream to many platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, and more at the same time; you can add branded backgrounds, animated lower-thirds, create smooth transitions, and so much more. What makes evmux unique is just being the sweet spot of very easy to use, yet very robust. You can go live within two clicks and look amazing, and you can take your production to the next level by using the unique pro-scenes builder - all in one very intuitive and very user-friendly platform.

How did evmux start? What made you develop this platform?

Elad: Wow, after being over a year in this journey of developing evmux, and when we launch today, that's great timing for this question :)
So I've founded evmux with my two amazing partners, Eran, our CTO, and Alon, our COO. We have been partners for almost ten years! Our background is providing technology for in-person events: Check-in, badge printing, lead retrieval, tracking in-event with crazy technology such as RFID, and things of that sort. Then, two years ago, COVID hit, and out of a sudden - No in-person events! Fortunately, the event industry pivoted pretty quickly to virtual events, and we decided to focus on the content creation piece of the virtual events.

Using solutions like OBS, vMix, Wirecast was very not easy-to-use and very limited for the event use-case. Also, web-based solutions were easier to use but very limited and didn't offer the features we needed. So as entrepreneurs, and as a technology company, we decided that we have to develop live streaming. We built a content studio that will be very easy to use yet very robust to allow content creators of any kind to express their creativity and produce stunning content. I think that's what makes evmux so unique, we truly have the content creators in mind, and we also bring our professionalism required in the event industry. This combination helped us develop what we believe will be the tool of choice for any live streamer, podcaster, event manager, AV professional, and in short - content creators!

The push to talk feature, is it really like in the news that the audience can't hear the comments from the producer?

Elad: Yes - exactly like this! When having speakers on stage, they are so focused on the show that they don't pay attention to your chat comments. The push to talk is really a revolution for remote producers. The ability to communicate with your speakers anytime is essential, and the Push to Talk feature solves this pain.

What are the differences between a Dynamic Scene and Pro Scenes?

Elad: Dynamic allows you to go live and start streaming using built-in layouts, invite guests very easily by sharing a link with all of them, brand the show with lower thirds, banners, tickers, etc. We believe that there are many use-cases that a Dynamic scene is simply good enough to go live very quickly and still look amazing. However, in many use-cases, the Dynamic scene is just not good enough. For example, if you would like to transition smoothly from one speaker to 4 - you can't do this. If you would like to move your logo from the top right corner or change its size - you can't do this. If you would like to be creative designing custom layouts with your guests - you are limited to several layouts.

Pro scenes allow you to take your show to the next level because you can fully customize your layouts, add unlimited layers to the stream and get the most out of your creativity. And you get all this in a very easy-to-use drag and drop Pro-Scenes builder. It's so easy, but yet so powerful!

Can scenes be edited during a live stream or a recording without affecting what's on-air?

Elad: Sometimes, you would like to do some edits or check things while you are live or recording without affecting the live show. For example, during the opening slide, you would like to see the next scene with you and the other guests, make sure the layout looks great, and edit the position of each one of you. Once ready - push this scene to be presented to the audience. With evmux, you can do this! With other cloud-based tools, you simply can't!

Do you support having more than one producer in the studio at the same time?

Elad: Absolutely! We support up to 12 guests/producers online on each broadcast at the same time. For example, you can have 12 producers and no guests or one producer with 11 guests. The ratio between producers and guests is up to you, 12 in total. Just a reminder, the producers can also be LIVE on stage like any other guest. The ability to have a co-producer is crucial because your colleague can step in for you easily, and that's super important for the stability of your show. Remember, it's more likely that your internet/computer will crash than the server, so having a co-host can be really helpful!
