While the MAU pricing model is quite popular in the industry, it does not take user engagement into account. This can create budgeting challenges and make financial forecasting difficult. As a solution, we have developed a new pricing model. Let me know your thoughts on it!
I think you need to find a simpler way to present this to users. Looking at the pricing page, not sure people will understand the discount model without reading the long blog post, which most people don't.
Maybe instead of using "discount" terminology, you should say straight out "price for occasional MAU", "price for frequent MAU", etc. Then maybe you can explain below the pricing table what is occasional.
Btw, if you have the data, maybe you want to calculate per user, rather than globally. Meaning I would pay tier1 for frequent users tier2 for others, etc, in the same month.
It may be more complicated for you to implement, but simpler for users to understand.
Anyway, nice approach, I like it
Hi Dan, thank you for your input. We greatly appreciate your insightful and inspiring approach. Just had an intense discussion about it (not that intense, you get what I mean :-) ), and we are seriously considering your proposal. We will keep you updated on our progress. Thank you once again!
Love the approach to pricing! Really easy to understand and love a pay-as-you-go approach! Curious on how you plan to automate that? You build the billing engine yourself?
Thank you! We are using Stripe, it do has some amazing presets and features, but we still need to code the billing part ourselves.
Hi,
I got the point that you want to introduce something with a price reduction with usage, but I bet that few people will understand the pricing.
I would recommend asking 30 people if they got the pricing by reading the first time, and if most of them (maybe all of them) didn't get it directly, change this.
I mean I rarely (even never) find company with a complicated pricing lol
I'm saying that because your tool/service is really great and useful.
Only my 2 cents
Thank you for your feedback. We're discussing it and trying to figure out a better plan.
that could help : https://saaslandingpage.com/pricing/ (not my website)
I don't get it.
The slider which lets you select MAU will change Hobby and Pro prices accordingly. But Pro has unlimited MAU in its benefits.
Why would the price of Pro change based on MAU if it can hold unlimited? I do get how it works internally and it's correct. But the way is written/proposed might be misleading and a turn off.
Thank you, we changed them to "up to" for clarity.
Do you feel that having more than four tiers makes this pricing model more complex than needed? Curious because I’m trying to figure this out myself, I commonly see three or less. How has the four tier system worked for you?
It's actually three. The "free" tier does not show up in other products sometimes.
There are only four tiers and the Free and Enterprise plans don't even bother IMO... Technically there are only two tiers to figure out

Thank you for the detailed response and insightful advice. We appreciate your feedback. The post is not intended to be a landing page, so we understand that presenting tables and calculations without first directing readers to the pricing page may come across as overwhelming. We will take your suggestion into account and refine the post accordingly.
