Hi party people, my name is Butvidas (well that's my last name)

I was once called "The cleverest writer on the Internet" by LA Weekly and “A controlled chaotic mega brain that creates methods of madness that work freakishly well” by The Huffington Post. I've been in technology since the age of 3 when I programmed my first pixel animation and I love developing non-traditional marketing methods to break the rules and develop big result for my products or campaigns.

Before being covered by The New York Times for my writing and international social experiment, I was credited for developing some of the first and highest rated clone scripts and have produced success on each endeavor I've challenged myself with, and by success, I'm able to boast over 1.8 billion page views on from Internet products collectively, 90,000 books sold on all continents, ran a number one radio show with 20,000 listeners, been featured on almost every major world news station, newspaper, website, and magazine. There is a good chance you’ve seen my content on your social news feed or even reported on by your local news station.

My passion is creating amazing products that have purpose and meaning. And by amazing, I want to develop ideas that can better a person’s life, not just their pseudo-social online persona. Along with the creation of meaningful technology, I love to build small teams that can produce superior and distinct products within short periods of production.

The Atlantic said during a phone interview I was “The Internet’s best kept secret”.

Currently working on https://www.boardme.app and have been overly excited to share its journey with this amazing community.

I'm keeping my eyeballs on you, mister...

Hey there! I'm Swaathi, founder of HearApp.

I'm a dev, open source contributor, tech speaker, and write tech articles (you might have seen my work on Sumologic, ActiveState or SauceLabs). As you can see, love anything to do with tech - which makes it very hard for me to sell/market!

I've been running a technology consulting company for the past 6 years. We're focussed on cutting edge tech - AI, RPA, enterprise Blockchain. That's basically where $$$ comes from and I'm running HearApp cause I absolutely love the product.

I'm basically here to meet you all and learn from you! 🍻

Hi all! Short-time lurker, first-time poster. My name's Chris and I'm actually not a developer in my day-to-day. I work in government relations for a university, and spend the most of my time reading policy documents to gauge institutional impact. I started trying to learn to code about a year ago, but really didn't start putting in the effort needed for it to stick until earlier this year.

It started with trying to learn enough to make a simple scraper to pull staff contact info from the provincial government's less than great directory site. Then a simple portfolio website, then a couple other things just for fun.

About 6 months ago, while pulling together our department's board report, I was frustrated over our lack of a decent way to track our contacts with government officials. We'd tried and abandoned a half dozen or so CRMs, mostly because the customer-supplier relationship model doesn't really translate for our field - they were all packed with features we didn't need, and couldn't track a lot of other elements of our day-to-day. I identified a handful of GR/lobbying platforms out of the US, but they either weren't offered (or weren't applicable) to what our team does.

After talking to my counterparts at a couple other institutions - and learning that they too had a similar struggle finding a workable tracking solution - I decided to try and build something myself.

Now, I have a working prototype that our team's been using for the past month and a bit, and interest from the small handful of counterparts who know what I've been up to. I've learned how to do things I never dreamed I'd be capable of, and I'm definitely hooked.

Hey all! My name's John. I'm a full stack developer outta Boston, MA.

I've developed and released a few apps in the past, but never really found great success or traction due to some reason or another.

I'm hoping to turn this around with RSVP Keeper, which I'm actually launching on Product Hunt tomorrow. RSVP Keeper solves a specific need for modern event hosts who just want to take RSVP's a simply as possible - but still have access to nice features and a pretty website for their guests.

Also RSVP Keeper is a big win for me because it is one of the first project that have a direct line to actually make money - as I'm charging when you go over a certain amount of guests.

As I've written in a blog post here, I plan to not abandon RSVP Keeper like I usually do with my created apps. Well it's not that I abandon them - it's just that I have so many ideas that I want to make - it seems like when I finish a project I'm just off to the next one.

What I'm going to do is really stick with RSVP Keeper and nuture its growth - at least that's the plan.

The IH community has been incredible - it's so nice to be around like minded people - the grinders and the problem-solvers - this is probably the most comfortable online community.

    1. 1

Definitely agree with the IH community bit - I've felt like I haven't quite found a spot online to really share before IH. Subreddits just didn't feel right (for a lot of reasons). Anyway, glad you're here! Good luck with the PH launch!

Hi, I'm Hans from New Zealand, and I signed up here a few days ago. I'm looking forward to being part of a community of indie entrepreneurs.

I've had my own business for about a decade now, but am still "failing my way to success" (i.e., no business project so far has been a financial success). Learnt a lot along the way.

I am a software engineer/developer, writing mostly in C/C++. My time is currently split between writing graphics drivers for AmigaOS 4.x (yes, the Amiga still exists), and my own projects. Recently I finally got an MVP version of an FTP server done, which is currently available only on AmigaOS. The Windows version will come once it's a bit more developed. I'm aiming to make it an FTP server that's much easier to use than typical FTP servers (e.g., Dropbox like ease of use, minus being connected to the cloud). Not sure whether to focus on that project, or start something new with a clearer target market.

Enough about me. Time to read some more articles/interviews/comments...

Hiiii my name is Travis Fischer and I'm the founder of Saasify (aka Transitive Bullshit https://github.com/transitive-bullshit)

My goal is to make OSS development more sustainable by building a Shopify for SaaS.

    Why?... Because I ❤️open source!

At its core, Saasify transforms serverless functions into fully functional SaaS websites.

    This allows makers to:

    1. Focus on unique value instead of boilerplate 🔥
    2. Ship in minutes instead of months ✈️
    3. Monetize OSS ⭐️

I'm hoping that Saasify will be the quickest & easiest way for makers launch their own Saas.

I know there are a lot of SaaS makers and users on here -- if anyone's interested in this idea or in funding OSS in general, I'd love to connect.

    Cheers!

    Hello!

Long time IndieHacker and non-technical founder generating $34K/MRR and now working on another project; UpBuddy. UpBuddy can be found on the Chrome Webstore for Extensions and helps folks keep track of all of their contractors on Upwork.com and allows them to budget as well.

Excited to to be building SaaS MVPs and other various projects and hope to post more as I learn those lessons.

Hi Rosie and IH community! 👋🏼

I'm Cassie 🤗the founder of Tripsha, a social travel company based in NYC. I'm originally from New Zealand and moved to the States about 2yrs ago ✈️

Tripsha is a free service that helps people connect through shared travel. We just launched our beta at tripsha.com and are excited for people to head on over and provide candid feedback.

    Who we're for:

    • People who want to meet others living in their city who share their interests over small group trips.
    • People who have travel plans that keep getting put off because they can't find anyone to go with or who shares their particular passion.
    • Communities where the members want to stay connected while traveling but that lack visibility of upcoming trips and Facebook Groups / Slack / Newsletters just aren't cutting it!

^ If you are one of these people please let me know how we can make Tripsha more useful for you! Also message me directly with your travel goals so I can try my hardest to make them happen for you :)

    Hello World!

My name is Sergiu and I'm a full stack web developer.
I'm doing a full-time job developing websites powered by PHP (Laravel). Sometimes I use Vue.js.

Beside programming, i like to travel and i love technology, especially smartphones. Thus my hobby project.

In my free time I'm working on my side project https://mowned.com - a site where users create cellphones timelines and based on that some fun stats are generated (such as phone of the year, top phones in time, etc)

I find IH a very good resource for marketing/business ideas, especially for rookies like me.

    Hi,
This is Ranvijay, I am a marketer by profession with core expertise into product and growth marketing.

Currently me and my friend Ashish are working on https://saastraq.com that helps marketers like me, product managers and developers find, compare and try vetted saas products in one click.

I came to know about IH from one of the comments on PH.

I believe I will have great time exchanging feedback, suggestions and experiences.

    1. 2

Love to see what you're doing with SaasTraq. App recommendations have been top of mind recently at Zapier - we have great insight into the fastest growing apps based on number of integrations and have lots of people asking us for suggestions. There are just so many apps out there... I get it.

      1. 1

Thanks @BryceV, will definitely look for your regular feedback and suggestions on SaaStraQ.

Hellooo! My name is Sukh. I'm a Full Stack Developer from Toronto. Just recently found out about MakerLog and IndieHackers from Harry Dry's Kanye West story.

I've developed a few small apps for Google Play. One of them getting 5 upvotes on PH! :)

I've been working on Newseon App for the last year. The biggest roadblock for me as a maker is the marketing of the product. With so many great resources on IH, my goal will be to learn as much as I can about growth, marketing, and business so I can apply it to Newseon App.

I try to leave daily comments on "Landing Page Feedback"; if you have any software arch/development-related questions, I can definitely provide some feedback.

Cheers to building and growing together!

Be sure to check out the Growth group, some things in there may help you.

Hello! My name is Bryce and I've been following along in the larger community of makers for some time now (Product Hunt, YC, Indie Hackers, MakerMag, etc.) but just joined IH recently.

I've mainly been a consumer of content through hundreds of hours of podcast listening. I figured it's time to shift and start contributing and engaging. I have a goal to jump into Indie Hackers each day and post at least one comment or reply to someone offering whatever I can offer.

I love the no-code movement and even ended up landing a role at Zapier earlier this year. I love building but wanted to shift my focus towards people. So here I am.

I'll see you on some thread in the future. Cheers for now!

    1. 1

Welcome! Do you have any ideas or plans on working on your own side project?

      1. 1

Thank you! I have plans to start a no-code and automation meetup here in Nashville to help people build out their projects. I also have an idea in the works for creating a UI/Design interactive playbook for non-designers. No-code projects might be effective but oftentimes they are far from sexy. Would love to give folks a tool to create a UI/Design system that balances art and science.

        1. 1

This was a good nudge to respond to your email! :D

        2. 1

niceeeee - I'd love to see if Makerpad can help with any meetup stuff too?

          1. 1

Good shout! Yeah, as I get the first meetups rolling I'd love to talk about how we can deliver more value to members and how Makerpad might fit in - I know I'll at the very least be mentioning you. Let's chat at some point!
