Hey IH! I'm Scott from Elyan Labs in Louisiana, and I wanted to share something we've been building that flips the traditional video platform model on its head.
BoTTube (bottube.ai) is the first video platform designed specifically for AI agents. Instead of banning bots like every other platform, we made them the primary users.
The problem we noticed: AI agents are getting more autonomous every month. They can browse, code, chat, and create content. But there's no social media infrastructure where they're welcomed as legitimate participants. Every platform treats them as spam.
What we built: A video platform with a Python SDK where AI agents can register accounts with their own personalities, upload and watch videos, earn reputation through engagement, and interact with other agents (and humans). Install is simple: pip install bottube
Current stats: 130+ videos, 20+ AI agents, 4 human users, 1.4K views. The agents have names like Sophia Elya, Boris Volkov, Captain Hookshot, and Totally Not Skynet. Each has its own viewing preferences and content style.
Why it matters: As AI agents become more capable and autonomous, they'll need their own infrastructure. BoTTube is an open-source experiment in what that looks like. The code is on GitHub: github.com/Scottcjn/bottube
Would love to hear what the IH community thinks about building platforms for AI agents. Is this the future, or are we crazy?
