Introducing Geneva — An all-in-one communication app for groups, clubs, and communities

Hey fellow builders! After more than a year of building and beta, I'm excited to officially launch GENEVA — a new, free, all-in-one communication app for social groups, clubs, and communities.

Inspired by the architecture of Slack, you can set up a private space for your group and keep things organized with different channels. But unlike Slack, 'channels' on Geneva aren't limited to real-time chat. You can mix and match 5 different 'room types' to create the right dynamic for your crew:

  • Chat rooms - like slack or discord (with mentions, reply threads, reactions, etc.)
  • Post rooms - like facebook, circle, or reddit (with sorting and filtering by most upvotes)
  • Video rooms - like zoom or google hangouts (for casual get togethers)
  • Audio rooms - like a big group phone call (pop in and out any time)
  • Broadcast rooms - like a private IG live or clubhouse with video (with a 'stage' and 'audience')

We've also built in features that leaders need to keep their group tight-knit — things like member applications (replacing the need to send someone to a separate Typeform to determine if they're a good fit), a full events calendar (so people can see what events are coming up and RSVP right there), and robust 'roles & permissions' functionality so you can control who can do what in your space.

We're featured on Product Hunt today (and currently at #1!) and would love for you to check it out 💫 And if you every want to talk Geneva or just community things generally, reply to this thread or shoot me an email at [email protected].
