Introducing Poodle

Hi indies,

I'm Wilbert, a solo bootstrapped founder. I made and sold 5-figure indie startups before. I wanted to stay in the game, so I started an email marketing platform called Lavish by the end of last year. It grew to almost $1,000 ARR, but everything started to get worse since then.

I was battling with infrastructure when churn was constant, and customers started pulling me in different directions. It's hard, it's freakin' hard! I took some time before burnout takes me, and I noticed a theme that always emerged: Lavish should be an API. That way, it can serve whatever customers want it to do. I didn't act immediately, but now it becomes a reality.

I name it Poodle. 🐩

It's an email API for busy product engineers. My goal is to provide a speedy and reliable email infrastructure to send emails – you set it up once and forget it – so you can focus on your products and customers.

Here are some notable things that Poodle has:

  • API playground to learn how the API works and whatnot

  • DKIM, SPF, DMARC email authentication

  • Premium IPs to reach inboxes

  • Human (not AI) support that's ready to help

If that's not enough, please let me know! I'll be happy to chat whenever you have some feedback. And until next time, I hope I can share my learnings and everything in between about growing Poodle.

Have a great day!

Respect for building through burnout. I'm also a solo builder — made something more emotional than technical, but really felt the “customers pulling in different directions” part. Rooting for Poodle 🐩!

Thanks! I'm building something unconventional — this site is the heart of my work:
        https://criver.site/
It's an RPG-style experience for people feeling lost or stuck in life. Would love your thoughts anytime.

The API direction makes a lot of sense! If you ever want to get Poodle in front of more indie makers, feel free to post it on Huzzler — my brother and I built it to help founders share their products. Would be cool to have you on there.
