Prompt to Plan is an AI assistant inside Flexprice that turns a plain English description of your pricing model into a complete billing configuration.

You type something like "I have a free tier with 1,000 API calls and a pro plan at $49/month with 10,000 calls included and $0.005 per call after that."

Flexprice builds the entire setup for you: plans, prices, usage meters, entitlements, credit grants, and overage rules.

Write it out. Open the Prompt to Plan screen, describe your pricing in the text box, and hit enter.

The AI analyzes your description, identifies every billing component, and generates the full configuration. You review it, click create, and everything lands in your product catalog ready to assign to customers.

Pick a template. If you want to model your pricing after a company that already nailed their billing structure, choose from pre-built templates. We ship with Railway, Cursor, Gemini, Apollo, and Vapi out of the box. Select one, and the AI pre-fills the prompt with that company's pricing logic. You can use it as-is or tweak it before generating.

How to try it

Here's the full walkthrough:

Step 01

Sign up at Flexprice.io by clicking "Try For Free." Fill in your credentials and you'll land on the dashboard.

Step 02

Go to Product Catalog > Plans in the left sidebar.

Step 03

Click "Create with AI". This opens the Prompt to Plan screen.

Step 04

Type your pricing model or pick a template. If you choose a template, the chat auto-fills with that pricing structure. If you're writing your own, describe your plans, including usage, overage pricing, and any credit grants you want.

Step 05

Hit enter and let it analyze. The AI breaks down your description into Flexprice billing entities: plans, prices, meters, entitlements, and credit grants.

Step 06

Review the output and click Create. Everything gets built in your product catalog. Plans, features, pricing tiers, usage tracking rules, all of it.

That's it. You go from "here's how I want to charge" to a fully configured billing system in about a minute.

What it builds under the hood

When you submit a prompt, the AI maps your pricing description to Flexprice's entity model. That means it creates actual billing objects you can inspect, edit, and attach to subscriptions:

Plans with the tiers you described (free, pro, enterprise, whatever you named them). Prices tied to each plan, whether flat-rate, per-unit, tiered, or volume-based. Usage meters that track the events you want to bill on (API calls, messages, compute minutes, seats). Entitlements that define what each plan includes. Credit grants for any prepaid usage pools or included allowances.
