Hey IndieHackers community! 👋
We're excited to introduce our latest project, Resumator (https://resumator.ai) - a free AI-powered cover letter generator designed to help job seekers stand out in today's competitive market. We'd love to get your valuable feedback as fellow entrepreneurs! 🚀
🌟 Resumator's Unique Edge:
What sets Resumator apart is its ability to thoroughly analyze a candidate's profile based on their resume, highlighting their strengths. It examines job descriptions and crafts a cover letter as if it's been written by a knowledgeable career advisor who's spent an hour learning about you. And it does all this in under a minute!
We've fine-tuned our AI model using feedback from hiring managers across various industries, ensuring top-notch results.
Fun fact: AI detection tools, like OpenAI's, can't even tell that our cover letters are generated by AI!
💭 Does Resumator Really Work?
We've tested Resumator with over 100 job seekers, and the feedback has been phenomenal! Users reported receiving more interviews thanks to the high-quality cover letters generated by our tool.
🤔 The Importance of a Cover Letter:
Data shows that roughly 50% of hiring managers highly favor candidates with personalized cover letters. Job seekers often skip writing one or simply reuse a generic cover letter, missing a crucial opportunity. That's where Resumator steps in!
🆓 Is Resumator Really Free?
Yes! Advancements in AI technology have allowed us to create Resumator with minimal operational costs. We're thrilled to offer it for free and have no plans to monetize it at the moment.
⌗ Privacy Matters:
Resumator is GDPR compliant, and users can view and delete their data at any time. Our AI model doesn't use input data for training, ensuring your data remains secure.
We're eager to hear your thoughts on Resumator! Give it a try and please share your feedback with us. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We appreciate your insights! 🙏
Happy job hunting, and cheers to helping fellow job seekers succeed! 🎉

No problem at all. I'm sure it's been hectic. I'll look out for your email and we'll be excited to talk to you :)
Very interesting! Have you launched on product hunt? Also curious to see how this differentiates itself from just typing in "write a resume based on xyz for me" on ChatGPT
Though I think building something like a profile pic generator with Evoke could be pretty interesting as well
Thank you Richard! We will go live on ProductHunt when we release our official V1 soon with more features. We want to keep it relatively low profile for the Beta version.
In principle anyone could use ChatGPT to try and generate a cover letter. I guess this boils down to one's prompt engineering skills. A lot could go wrong and it took us quite some fidgeting to get it right. Somebody who just wants to get a cover letter most likely won't get the same result.
Additionally, we don't use OpenAI exclusively. We use our own model for a decent amount of the process, which resulted in what we believe is an end result that outperforms every other tool we've tried so far.
I didn't know about Evoke, will definitely check it out! Again, thanks for checking it out :)
Ok, that makes sense! Love that you have your own model. Most people just use a GPT wrapper haha
We definitely use GPT as well. But not for everything. Some things it just can't do extremely well due to its training data.
