Introduction

Hi,

My name is Paul. I'm currently on my way to becoming a software developer. I'm 21 years old, and have been coding since I was 12. I love programming, and I love learning new technologies.

The first program I created was a calculator in VB.net. I was following an online tutorial, but it served as a good starting point for introducing me to the various concepts used in programming. From there I went on to do a whole wide range of things. I've worked with C/C++, C#, Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, HTML & CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and even a little bit of assembly. I've also made small projects using Unreal Engine, Unity3D, and PyGame.

Lately my focus has been primarily on Front End web development, and JavaScript, as I feel this is will most likely be the technologies I use in my first job. I've recently published my personal website as well, which can be found on my profile. As of the time of this writing, I'm currently in the process of getting SSL setup, and adding functionality to the contact form. The website was built using HTML, CSS, PHP, and SQL.

In September of this year, I'll be heading off to college to take a 2 year program for a diploma as a Computer/Programmer Analyst. I then hope to take a third year in Ireland to turn this into an Advanced Diploma. From there I've considered staying a fourth year, in order to complete a Bachelor of Computer Science.

I'm always looking for new projects to work on, and love collaborating with other people. Feel free to send me a message if you want to work on a project together.

Hi Paul, welcome to the community. I'm also a newbie here and have a similar history as you. I also created something embarrassing in VB long ago (https://www.deviantart.com/asarchit65/art/Iris-Web-Browser-387297417). Now, I've grown my love for Javascript (MERN <3). I'm about to graduate from my college and currently interning with Amazon but want to grow as an Indie.
    Let's stay in touch.

Hi Architkshk, thanks for the welcome! I remember back when I was tinkering with VB.net wanting to create a web browser, but I never did. It's great that you actually published the browser for other people to use! Do you have any projects currently in the works?

No, nothing is in the works. Would love to start though, currently exploring.
