Introduction to Slash Anywhere

Create custom slash commands to instantly insert text, snippets, variables, and more on any website.

Type "/" and instantly access your favorite commands, text snippets, templates, and shortcuts on any website.

Stop copying and pasting the same information over and over again. With Slash Anywhere, you can create custom slash commands that let you insert text instantly wherever you type.

Just type "/" in any text field, choose a command, press Enter, and you're done.

⚑ FAST SLASH COMMANDS

Type "/" to instantly open your command palette.

Use your keyboard to search and navigate through commands, then press Enter to insert the result. Slash Anywhere is designed to be fast, lightweight, and keyboard-first.

πŸ“‹ CUSTOM TEXT SNIPPETS

Create your own commands for anything you type repeatedly.

For example:

  • /email β†’ john@example.com

  • /address β†’ 123 Main Street, New York

  • /signature β†’ Best regards, John

  • /phone β†’ +1 555 123 4567

Instead of searching for information, opening another app, or copying and pasting, just type "/".

🌎 WORKS ANYWHERE YOU TYPE

Use your slash commands across the web.

  • Gmail

  • ChatGPT

  • Reddit

  • Forms

  • Text fields

  • Textareas

  • Contenteditable fields

  • & more

Your commands are available wherever you need to type.

πŸ“… BUILT-IN COMMANDS

Slash Anywhere also includes useful built-in commands that work out of the box:

  • /date β€” Insert today's date

  • /time β€” Insert the current time

  • /emoji β€” Open an emoji picker

  • /voice β€” Speech to text

And more commands can be added over time.

πŸ”€ COMMAND VARIANTS

Need multiple versions of the same command?

Create variants for a single command.

For example:

/email

- Personal

- Work

/signature

- Short

- Professional

/address

- Home

- Office

Keep related snippets together instead of creating a separate command for every variation.

πŸ• RECENT COMMANDS

Your recently used commands appear at the top of the command palette, making frequently used snippets even faster to access.

⌨️ KEYBOARD-FIRST

Slash Anywhere is built around the keyboard.

  1. Type "/"

  2. Search or navigate

  3. Press Enter

    Hi Appetizer,

    Congrats on your venture!

There have been many times this would have been useful in email, especially to insert dates. It's quite "sticky" once you introduce it in your habits. Also, it is very easy to use - no user account, just start typing.

If this would be an enterprise tool with a Team tier, not only the margins would benefit, but also it'd allow organisations to sync templates across entire customer service or sales divisions with one click - it would be so efficient, someone updates the compliance disclaimer and that updates seamlessly across the organisation.

Have you thought of a native OS app to eliminate the dependancy on Google's Web Store? That would probably make it easier to deal with conflicts inside other native apps currently using "/" as triggers. Also, integrating AI could be a nice addition too to help users summarise or generate context-aware text (however, considerations for user privacy must be made here).

Just some thoughts for you to think about! I hope it helps! Best of luck!

It would be good to enable some sort of language and region settings, with in-depth settings regarding the date and time format (for example, being able to have "Monday, 1 January 2000"). The language is quite a barrier for this sort of thing as well. Maybe the user's device settings can be used as default or their Gmail if they log in.
