InvestingProphet

What it is

InvestingProphet is a stock screener that calculates a fair value for any public company in USA, then tells you flat out whether it's Undervalued, Fairly Priced, or Overvalued. If you'd rather not read a screener, ask for a "Roast or Respect" on a single ticker — a plain-English, reasoned verdict.

Why I built it

I'm a software engineer and I wanted a stock research tool for myself — something that could filter out good stocks and give me a starting point for research into solid investment opportunities. So I built an app that tries to evaluate stable, solid businesses.

How it works

— Calculates a fair value from SEC filings and market data

— Roast or Respect verdict, with the reasoning shown

— Watchlist with signal-change alerts

— Free to use; Pro unlocks deeper historical charts and sticker prices calculated with my algorithm

What's next

More public "Undervalued Stocks Today" pages with sector filters, and getting the valuation model to behave for high-growth, negative-earnings names.

I'd love any feedback so I can add or correct features. Happy to answer any questions below.

The “Undervalued / Fairly Priced / Overvalued” verdict is the real product, not the screener. Have you seen users change what they research or buy because of the verdict, rather than just use it as another data point?

Good question. Right now I have only anecdotal signal, a few friends using the app mentioned skipping their usual due diligence when the verdict was "Undervalued," or even the opposite, dropping the research entirely when the verdict was "Overvalued". But nothing rigorous yet. I'm thinking about instrumenting this directly.

That’s already a useful behavioral signal, even if anecdotal. I’d be interested in seeing where it leads. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
