Invite-only lauch? I feel insecure about it ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Hey hackers,

We've decided to lauch Poked - The LinkedIn CRM, as an invite-only tool. A few reasons to that:

  • Start more 1:1 conversations
  • Collect feedback and ideas
  • Elicit tolerance/patience from new users

But the big "invite-only" names (SuperHuman, Clubhouse) had massive team and seem to be so good at giving a Premium feel to their products.

I've never been a very "VIP in the club" kinda guy myself, and imposteur syndrom kicked in when I wrote "Get exclusive access".

Have you dealt with something similar?
How did you fix it?

Honest feedback would help a lot !!

Launching is always a bit scary.
It is pretty normal that you start as an invite-only.

Former Instagram founders launch Artefact, their new project as invite-only: https://techcrunch.com/2023/01/31/instagrams-co-founders-introduce-a-new-social-app-for-news-reading

I don't think it should be seen as a long-term marketing trick though.
It is just the normal path for early-stage products IMO.
