Is a 12% Conversion Rate a Failure? (Landingpage made in 2 hours) 🛩

Hey Guys!

After your help, (yet again!)

My landing page - https://www.spreadtech.online is actually getting some really good traction, but only 12% of users are actually converting!!

What conversion rates are you guys getting for your landing pages?

For anyone in a similar industry to me (content marketing tools) what figures are you seeing?

ANY HELP WOULD BE SUPER BENEFICIAL !!!

12% is high although I believe your current conversion metric relates to free sign ups rather than paid memberships / accounts.

Agree with @MrAtiebatie. If you want new ways to acquire users free, consider my public Notion list of 100 ideas: https://www.notion.so/100users/This-is-where-you-ll-find-your-startups-first-100-users-e90a4a38758e4e31a1cc1d93e6aa2758

Yeah, I didn't even consider that these were free signups which obviously is a MUCH higher conversion rate over paid...

I'll check it out, thank you very much!

Right now im just using indie hackers and Quora for traffic, but I've started some Facebook ads yesterday so hopefully that'll keep a steady stream of traffic

Very cool concept. I definitely experience that pain point.

Desktop: I scrolled past the signup link (and couldn't find it for a bit). The bottom of the page are some funny gifs and white space, but might be worth it to fix the signup to the footer (or something).

      Thank you for your feedback!

So you think this is something that you would personally use?

You should have signed up 😉 - any reason why you didn't I'd love to hear it?

And yeah I really need to remove it, unfortunately im actually the worst tech person ever and even WIX is too complicated for me, I don't know how to do it hahahahah

your landing page conversion is on the low end of the average according to these benchmarks. nonetheless its still average which is way better than poor. if 12% conversion is where you are starting I suspect you'll get that to 20% in no time.

Hey Bro really appreciate your reply! Thank you!

On the link you attached I don't see any number relating to sign up conversion rate? Only bounce rate?

I'm hoping to get to 20% now I've started with PPC ads and updated the mobile version heavily.

12% is really high for a normal product/service.

I think you have such a high conversion rate because you promise to deliver a 50usd/month service, for free, for lifetime.

Also note, that I would have signed-up but there's a "I accept terms & conditions" checkbox without having any way to see what are those terms and conditions.

Plus there is no information about who you are, your company, or any other legal information.

"there is no information about who you are, your company, or any other legal information."

I completely agree, I need to add a load in, but I haven't even finished it yet

I've taken then the terms and conditions out, and I've added in some GDPR stuff

Thank you very much for this feedback, you've practically helped me loads!

I plan to deliver on that £50/m promise to0, in good time. In the mean time every Sunday im providing content marketing case studies to help out users as much as possible before I launch

12% is really high! Most of the landing pages barely make it to 10%. How many signups do you have?

    1. 1

Thank you so much for your encouraging feedback!!!

I already have 9 and it's only been up since yesterday

I've only had traffic from Quora and IndieHackers though, im uploading an ad tomorrow to Facebook so hopefully signups will boost

      1. 3

If my math is correct, that means your total traffic is about 75 people, right.?That's not nearly enough to reach statistical validity. I'd hold off worrying about the specific conversion rate or drawing any conclusions until you've had the page up longer and have a much higher sample size.

        1. 1

Yeah completely agree with you, so is it a good idea to use facebook ads to increase sample size?

With the ad I have running right now It's averaging £0.90 per a user sign up...

          1. 1

If you have the budget for it, then go for it.

      2. 1

Why already throw money at it? If you keep 12% conversion rate keep driving some traffic to your site and talk to the users that sign up. Try to discover their pains, gains and jobs.

        1. 1

Agreed, I need to contact the users individually and speak to them about their pains etc to get some real user feedback

I'm going to post some more on Quora to keep the ball rolling and I'll see how conversion rate changes
