Is AI space becoming saturated?

Completely saturated with low-effort, low-quality, low-value apps - not even close to saturated with apps that actually tap the full potential of AI.

No, the possibilities are endless. There is a lot that can be done with AI right now (keep in mind that AI is not only ChatGPT). There are still a lot of unexplored spaces for AI apps for all kind of domains (agriculture, manufacturing, sales, image processing, medicine, etc).

AI space is not saturated.
It's just that copywriters and marketing folks have discovered it..

The AI space is a very broad one.
Just like any other tech hype train, there’s a wave of unimaginative, badly made products being made. But in my opinion, give it a bit and the high quality products will start to appear - it simply takes longer to create a good product.

If it does become saturated, people will be forced to innovate to stand out, creating a new wave of tech advances. The cycle will repeat itself. I'm here for it@

Most people / companies are just arb'ing the value of Open Ai tools...throw a UI wrapper on top of API calls to GPT and charge more per call than what Open AI charges. Obviously, these "opportunities" will vanish very fast. And most "AI" companies have no qualifications to actually develop any sort of novel AI applications - or even tune existing models to get more utility out of them.

Everyone is using the same underlying tools which means there is a fairly even playing field set. The thing I think that gets overlooked is that many people will be much better than others at prompting the AI to accomplish a goal. Some people will MUCH better than others. I think many products are trying to deliver an “easy-button” type product but the results are fairly underwhelming. AI needs to fit into people’s workflow. These types of products are not saturating the market, just wrappers for GPT-3 and ChatGPT.

"AI space" is so broad that "is it saturated?" isn't really a useful question. But I can think of some more specific AI spaces or types of AI apps that are becoming more saturated.

The most obvious one is the AI writing apps space. I think we'll soon see a rise of a few that will dominate the market in addition to Copy AI and Jasper, and then it'll be hard for others to enter unless they target more niche customer groups.

Another one that is slowly but surely becoming saturated is the AI art apps or avatar AI generator space. But those have a higher barrier of entry, so it'll happen at a slower pace than AI writing apps. Plus that one is still quite young.

But for AI in general, there is lots of opportunity there!

No, I think we're still at a very early stage and AI will help with a lot of different sectors once developed further. If we focus on 1 area you might say it's competitive but I wouldn't say it's over-saturated, not even close.

Depends on the type of product ur referring tbh. Most of the saturated ones are the copywriting, image generating, etc. Which are just ready made AI models which are hosted on the cloud.
But there are some exceptions, for example We're building codenull.ai a no-code software that allows you to make any AI model for business use cases by just dragging and dropping your csv file. This is a first of its kind software and can be of great use to any developer/startups.
