So I made an /open page for my website right from the launch a week ago.
I've found lots of people make these sort of pages when they are already making 100k etc which isn't so daring!
But, I'm speaking to companies about doing some B2B sales and I'm concerned the fact that my revenue is $55(even if just in one week) could lead companies to think "oh, I can low-ball this guy".
What do you reckon?
/open pages really depend on your business goals and stage I think.
If it were me, I'd wait to have an open page until sharing the revenue numbers are higher. Once you're making a more, an open page could actually increase bids for ad spots, but with your current low numbers, my guess is that it does more bad than good.
As a piece of content marketing, your /open page probably won't get much traffic atm since the low numbers aren't necessarily interesting. But, in general I agree that it kills B2B negotiation by showing your cards upfront.
If you're going for the scrapy startup thing, an /open page could help as a part of that overall narrative, but is only really effective if pushing that story. Depends on your marketing strategy I guess which is a try and measure kind of game I guess.
I say, this early, only do if committing to that kind of messaging (scrappy startup tone of voice).
Take all with a grain of salt as I'm not a marketing expert, but hope this helps you.
