    • Don't dropship garbage via AliExpress
    • Try to keep your delivery times as low as possible. Customers will hate you if you let them wait 3 weeks for their products

He’s right. Imagine buying a product and having it delivered 6 weeks later? Lol

That's horrible! So what will be best option?

My suggestion would be to manufacture your own product and import it. If you want to dropship, find suppliers in your country and work a deal with them.

But i thought to do it for Europe and other countries instead of local. Also, it may require large investment as well.

I think it's a bad idea to start selling globally. For e.g. it's very unlikely that a German visitor would buy anything from your store that is not even translated to German.
It also makes shipping very complicated.

My suggestion: One country at a time ;)

I have been dropshipping since 1999 and I don't think you should view the business as a "dropshipping" labeled business because in reality it's no different than any normal business that can try to source any product for you or order something for you out of a catalog.

At the time I owned a small "Tuner" shop where I sold aftermarket car parts and offered installation services and discovered the "dropshipping"model by accident when someone came into my store and wanted to order an aftermarket exhaust for his car that I didn't sell. I told him I'd try and get it for him so that's when I learned that I could sell anything if I could speak intelligently to the manufacturer or distributor and convince them to sell me their product at cost. If it's a low volume, they can charge me a little more which is better than not being able to make that sale. Brands all have their own rules on how they deal with distribution of their products. I had to send them pictures of my actual shop to convince them to give me their products at cost and I think I sent them a copy of my building lease.

I think if you focus on creating a business that provides value and is useful to people, you will do much better than if you think of the business as a dropshipping business because you'll probably be entering into a business that is super saturated from all the other people learning about dropshipping. I might even avoid companies that stress dropshipping as a service they provide just to avoid an over-saturated market or potentially a middleman claiming to be the manufacturer or distributor.

If you do it from your house, you're profitable from the first sale you make because you don't have any expenses or costs. If you use opensource software, your costs are $5/month for hosting.

Learned lot from this one. Thanks a lot man. So are you still doing this one? Also, Shopify attracting more people with this dropshipping business content, is it true at al?

      1. 3

No I stopped a long time ago.

Shopify is the best ecommerce software to use to start your business because it's the easiest, cheapest, most reliable, and you can do anything with it.

With regards to any content or information you obtain from anywhere. The only thing that matters is what you do with the information but 99% of the content you read will never contribute to your success and is a complete waste of time.

If you are serious about becoming financially successful, don't read anymore content. Instead, pretend that you don't have internet access and start your business tomorrow by literally figuring it out through trial and error.

When I was working at a daily deal company, we ventured into selling products by way of drop shipping.

For us, it was a mixed lot. It was good when it was good, but when you find out a company is selling knock off products and you sold people something name brand, it's a nightmare and a half (100% refunds, support overhead that's incurred, company that did the shipping vanishing, etc etc).

tl;dr - Be sure you're working with a reputable supplier

Thanks! I will sure follow your advice. Any tips to find the right suppliers? Which place we can find a reputable suppliers? I really appreciate it.

Mostly anecdotal advice since I've been away from that space for like 6-7 years... While not a silver bullet, I'd be sure to get references of other customers using the supplier and be sure to actually call on them.
