Is anyone selling on Appsumo marketplace?

Currently, I'm selling my digital product, Lean Incubator, on Gumroad.
I came across Appsumo market and it seems to be a good platform (?) but the setup & selling process are a bit confusing.

Would anyone mind sharing his/her experience? the pros & cons.
Thank you in advance.

I've heard a lot about Appsumo but still in the thinking phase of taking ruttl onto their platform.

It's a great place to generate some quick cash flow if you want. But be very careful because we are talking about lifetime deals here, which can quickly get difficult to handle.

I don't know about quick cashfow though.... isn't their payout like 60 days from sale?

Yeah I think you are right
But that's the thing..It can generate some funds if needed

Yea, but also, I think their products are more targeted for a niche audience, so, like, from my limited understanding, I'd say other entrepreneurs, markters, and maybe designers, so, if your product is not target towards that then it could be a waste of time. (Like, I have a couple products, but they are for a users of a specific video software, and the chances of them looking for them on appsumo would be close to 0 probably.

Imo 60 days is way too long. and I'm just sharing from my own experience, I'm currently located in a country with limited digital payments or overly expensive ones. So, my options are Fastspring & paddle for now in that sense. But if things start to scale, I'll probably register and Ireland llc or something like that.

This equally makes sense as well. I'm not really aware about Ireland actually. Is it possible for a foreigner to start an LLC over there?

            1. 1

Yup, it allows foreign owners, and to my understanding, if the LLC is not managed in Ireland, (like you are not living there and doing business from there) then the entitity does not count as a taxable entity.
You can read more about it. https://www.offshorecompany.com/company/ireland-llc/

I haven't set one up there, but it was just one of the places that I researched a bit. Most common ones are probably Delaware & Wioming, but the tax system in the US is way more complicated, so Ireland could be a less stressful option. Although, it would be better to ask someone that has one to see what their experience is.

That's actually quite useful. I will surely check this out. Thanks for the sharing the link! 😀
