We operate in the travel sphere and had two subscription cancellations this week already. Anybody else starting to feel the pain?
I am facing a indirect impact. My consultation work brings me alot of money compared to my products. And I am seeing a delay in payments, new work (especially with companies which are based in China).
A crazy thing started to happen a few days ago with my SAAS VidLive.co. I noticed a surge in sign ups and subscriptions. Turns out the Corona Virus and the lock downs have created a demand for my service. Ministries have been my top customers from the start, but now because they are having to go all online they are looking to painlessly live stream from Facebook Live to their website. I'm glad VidLive can help during this time.
Highly depends on the market you’re in. Within the travel space, I can see trouble coming as people are just less likely to travel if it keeps growing like it is now.
On the other end, if you have a SaaS focused on the market of remote working, this is a period where growth will come as more people from companies usually operating from an office will be working from home.
So true and good point - it's definitely a great time for anybody with a SaaS offering in the remote working space.
Just wondering, how sure are you these cancellations are actually related to the COVID-19 outbreak?
It's a hunch based on the reason (illness) that they gave me for the cancellations. Fear plays a big factor in someone not deciding to take a trip and COVID-19 gives someone an added reason not to go :(
That hunch is how fake news gets spread. Some blogger sees this post and crafts the headline "Coronavirus directly affecting SaaS sales" and the next thing you know, it's the talk of the nightly news.
