Is Git enough for the AI era, or do we need a new layer on top of it?

AI already writes a huge part of modern code.
But one question keeps bothering me:
Who is actually accountable for AI-generated changes?

Git can track what changed.
It was never built to track why it changed, what prompt led to it, what context the agent had, or whether the code was properly reviewed before landing in production. That gap is becoming very real.

Teams are already dealing with:

• AI-generated code with unclear ownership
• lost session context and reasoning
• no clear boundaries for what AI tools should be allowed to touch
• growing AI spend with weak visibility
• compliance and audit questions that Git alone can’t answer

That’s the problem I am thinking about with Origin.
Thats a tool for an AI-native development workflow.
