Is it better to improvise a talk and refine it in post or deliver a prepared talk and edit it as little as possible?
I want to make an informational video on a topic I know well that is quick/dense and possibly paywall it.
I like talking off the cuff as it comes off as more personable than a prepared talk, but editing it can be a pain and too many jump cuts can get annoying.
On the other hand, a prepared talk where you just plow through a bunch of info without hesitation is kind of impressive (like wow, this person knows their stuff) and requires less editing, but writing a script can take up a lot of time - maybe even more time than editing a talk off the cuff.
What do you think?
I suppose writing a list of bullet points to cover and talking about each one off the cuff is a good in between?
Make something conversational with an eye towards a wider audience. I think a highly refined speech with some area of flexibility would serve you best.
